Beach High School before earning a Bachelor of Political Science degree from Savannah State University and a Master of Divinity from the Morehouse School of Religion.
Rev. Smith accepted Christ and his call to ministry at the Pentecostal Miracles of Deliverance Center in Savannah, Georgia, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Idell Cheever. He was licensed to preach at PMDC and later ordained in the Baptist denomination in 2017 by Rev. Quentin Morris, Pastor of Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
His pastoral journey includes serving as Youth Minister at both Pentecostal Miracles of Deliverance Center and Tremont Temple Baptist Church. He also served as Associate Pastor of Tremont Temple and later as Interim Pastor of the Historic Second African Baptist Church. Currently, Rev. Smith serves as the Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. His ministry is centered on four key pillars: Evangelizing, Embracing, Educating, and Empowering.
Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Smith is an engaged community leader. He serves as the New Era Southern Region Deputy Secretary and is a dedicated member of the Baptist Minister’s Association. His passion for youth and education led him to run for public office, and in June 2022, he was successfully elected as the Fifth District School Board Member. He firmly believes that education is the key to limitless success.
In January 2025, Rev. Smith made history as the second-youngest president of the Savannah NAACP Branch, following in the footsteps of civil rights icon W.W. Law. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
A noble community leader, a dedicated servant of God, a dynamic teacher, and a powerful praying preacher, Rev. Paul E. Smith is committed to serving, building, and uplifting the Kingdom of God with a prayerful spirit and innovative approach.
